Managing Director
Sneha holds overall responsibility for the investment strategy of Global Horizons.
- Board member at the AFEX group of companies, overseeing all finance and tax matters.
- Restructuring and turnaround specialist having worked on multiple high-profile transactions within the East African region across sectors including hospitality, infrastructure, business services and financial services.
- Sneha started her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Corporate Finance departments in London and Nairobi.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and graduate from the London School of Economics & Political Science.
Amal Shah
Operational Director
Amal leads the Portfolio Management team, supporting the portfolio on all operational matters.
- AFEX Group and African Perishable Logistics (APL) board Member.
- Director of JA Recycling, a tyre recycling business in Kenya.
- Experienced senior manager of companies totalling $100m of revenues; operating in the hotels, shopping centres, tyre distribution, FMCG distribution and other ancillary sectors.
- Graduate of the University of Manchester
- Master of Business Administration from Babson College
Nick Taylor
Investment Advisor
Nick’s primary responsibility is to originate new investment ideas for Global Horizons and lead transaction execution.
- Founder of Accelerate Africa (www.aafrica.com), an originator, sponsor and manager of African investment opportunities.
- Nick previously worked for Lonrho, a leading pan-African investment firm, most lately as their Chief Investment Officer, responsible for all capital allocation and several the portfolio companies.
- Nick started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in London as an advisor within their Corporate Finance Team.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAEW).
- Graduate of the University of Nottingham Business School.
Tahmin Muhith
Finance & Administration
Tahmin assists the portfolio companies on financial reporting and other financial matters. He also manages company secretarial across the firm.
- Founder of Crown Premium Catering, a leading catering business
- Serial entrepreneur and investor having owned businesses in the hospitality and property sectors
- Currently developing a large residential property project in Sylhet, Bangladesh
- Previous experience includes holding several accounting & finance roles
- Graduate of the University of Leicester
Gary Schneeberger
Zimbabwe Country Head and MD African Perishable Logistics
Gary is the founder, part-owner and Managing Director of African Perishable Logistics (APL), a leading Perishable Logistics & Warehouse Specialist with hubs in Johannesburg and Harare.
- Previously General Manager of Transport SADC for Lonrho Logistics
Mark Mukuha
Kenya Country Head and General Manager, AFEX Kenya
Mark is the General Manager of AFEX Kenya, responsible for the strategy of the business, client relations and all operational elements.
- Mark has over 10 years experience in administration, operations, business development, compliance, legal and corporate affairs.
- He is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and previously serviced as the Legal & Compliance Manager under Lonrho, the London based investment conglomerate.
- Mark holds a Masters’ Degree in Communication Studies (USIU), an MBA – International Business (UON) and a Master of Laws Degree (UON), a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School and a Bachelors’ Degree in Law. He is also a Certified Public Secretary
- Law Graduate of the University of Nairobi and MBA in Strategic Management
Carrie MacDonald
South Sudan Country Head and General Manager, RiverCamp
Carrie is General Manager of RiverCamp, the leading office, accommodation, conferencing and hospitality facility for NGOs and businesses in Juba, South Sudan.
- With 37 years of experience in hotel and camp management, Carrie brings diverse knowledge to the team.
- She has worked in remote locations in Kenya, Tanzania and South Sudan. She first came to South Sudan in 2006 but joined River Camp in October 2019 to spear head the team.
